Financial support to agriculture is one of the key measures for development of agriculture and rural development, for which there is high interest for participation in its development among farmers. The Federation of Farmers of Republic of Macedonia (FFRM) is a non-governmental farmers' organization which was the first to develop a comprehensive and well argumented Draft Programme for Financial Support to Agriculture in 2010.

Roma Identification Papers – “Everything Starts from Here”

ISC recently started a new project in collaboration with ARKA, an established Macedonian NGO. Launched in April, 2007, the program is helping Roma get identification papers (birth certificates, photo identification, passports) that are not only an essential part of being recognized as a citizen on a personal as well as national level, but more essentially they are necessary for access to social services. In the 6 months that the program has been running they have already served 500 constituents with over 500 more waiting for help. ARKA works with individuals to navigate the legal system, pays most of the registration fees and taxes, and provides information to Roma to help them understand the importance of documentation.

OHRID DONORS AND THE YOUTH COUNCIL – EXAMPLES OF SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE

The Youth Council Ohrid welcomed its donors at the traditional Ohrid visitation in the beautiful surroundings of the Robevci house in the capital of Macedonian culture. Independence Day, September 8, presented an excellent opportunity for the Youth Council’s activists to present their donor-funded achievements to an audience of donors, associates and the general public, as well as for the donors to restate their dedication to supporting young people and the community.
